Traditions

Cefalù

The best time to visit Cefalù is certainly during the feast days of the patron saint, the SS. Salvatore, celebrated every year on 6 August. There are two traditions to be observed on this precise day:
- watch the Ntinna a Mari, a game that, for 237 years, has seen participants determined to grab the flag of SS. Salvatore placed at the end of a soapy pole
- taste the 'Pasta a Taianu', a traditional Cephaludese dish made with minced meat and fried aubergines.
